Sprint phones?

Does it make a difference what sprint phone I use as long as it has the sprint logo on it? On the sprint website it asks for zip code, does that mean those are the only phones that will work in my area? I don’t like any of the phones they have available right now, and want to look on ebay, but i’m afraid of buying one that won’t work in my particular zip code. BTW, I am a current sprint customer, it’s just that my phone is going downhill.

If you’re planing on buying a new phone from ebay or any other place that’s not Sprint you should get the esn number first. If the phone you’re going to buy has a serial number that has been reported lost or stolen in the system you won’t be able to activate it on your account or any other account for that matter. The reason the web site asks you for you zip code is to verify that you live in an area that has Sprint coverage before they sell you a phone that won’t work for you. As long as the phone you want to activate has a clean esn and a Sprint logo you’ll be fine.
