The tv is a Hitachi brand, is 3 yrs old and is 42". Do not have warranty. The line runs vertically through the middle and can be black or bands of color. It comes on sometimes and goes away, could be hours at a time.

Logic board or the x-drive board that drives that section of the TV is bad, you should get a tech to test it at their office. Or just replace both boards yourself.
