We are getting my 18 month old a toy kitchen for christmas this year. I actually have already purchased one; because it was on a great sale. I got her the LifeStyle dream kitchen. I love how real it seems and all the noises it makes ect. However I am wondering if a wooden one from either Pottery Barn or Kidkraft would be better. I had a plastic one back in the day and I played with it forever; and it held up really well and was easy to clean ect. But everything is made so cheaply now I am wondering if maybe the wooden one would be a better investment. Any reviews or suggestions would be great thanks. And not to sound to greedy or materialistic but please try to keep the suggestions about second hand or yard sale kitchens to a minimum. I understand they have some really nice deals out there; however she is my only child and it’s her first "real" toy and I want it to be nice and perfect and smell all new ect. I’ll be thrifty when we get her one to go in her outside playhouse. Thanks. O and also if anyone has any info on the Lifestyle delux kitchen (the walk in one with the bar and fo-wood floors) let me know please. Is it as big as it looks online? Is it as nice as it seems?

I love the plastic ones for their easy of cleaning and lights and sounds. And also the fact that they come with cute accessories ect. However I feel that they are SOOO overpriced for their actual size. The "lifestyles" ones are the ones I’ve been looking at and I cant pick on I like. The huge walk in one is too big. They have a larger and a "regular" sized one sided version. I saw the smaller of the two at toysrus and it seemed miniscule up on the shelf. We are getting it for our daughter for xmas. She will b 1 1/2 at the time, so I obviously want something that can either grow with her; or I wont feel bad about replacing. I’ve also been looking at the wodden kitchen from kidkraft, the Large Pastel Kitchen. I am concerned about spending 0 now and then in 3-4 years having to replace it because it is in terrible condidtion. She isnt rough with things (yet) but who knows. And we often have friends with kids comming over and they would of course play with it. I also am thinking of going with a smaller plastic one for now just because of the general size of them. We have a lab puppy who’s crate is currently taking up my dining room, which is where the kitchen will be until my daughter is much older (5-6). Are those small plastic "Lifestyle" ones a good buy in the end? I feel like they are SOO small that even as young as she is it wouldnt offer her much to do/play with. Any help???
thats so not true…maybe ur kids didnt play with it but I remember mine when I was little and I played with it all day everyday for YEARS…and although it wasnt huge, it was decent size. And I took great care of it.

I’m looking for one to purchase. The six year old is 47 inches tall. I was looking at the KidKraft Large Kitchen in pastel. There doesn’t seem to be anything along these lines for a tall girl whose waist comes to about 28 inches from the floor. Same thing with playhouses. She would have to bend at the waist while in it. Any advice, suggestions? I put a question similar to this in Toys, but figured I’d ask here as well. Thanks all for answering! Happy Holidays!!!
