Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console is out and Sony announced a release date for PlayStation 3 months ago. So the big question is, when will Wii launch? The only official answer from Nintendo is sometime before the Thanksgiving holiday in America. But sources — both on the hardware and development side — argue that the console will be hitting much sooner.
A number of big-name publishers are set to release their Wii games in mid-to-late October, which suggests that a system debut could not be that far off. And several insiders have told IGN that November 2 could, in fact, be the big day.
Thing is, not all of our contacts are in agreement on the date. Some have suggested that November 12 could, instead, by Wii’s launch date. Regardless, though, it seems that Wii fans can look forward to their console sooner rather than later.
Sources suggest that Wii will launch with a 9 price tag and will be available in both black and white.
Okay, so the Playstation 3’s cheapest price is now 9.99 (80gb model). The Xbox’s cheapest price is now 9.99. But the Wii’s price is still around 9.99. Will the price ever change? I mean i know a lot of people buy it but it has to change somehow. Once all of its competitor’s price lowers, no one will buy the Wii.

I want to get a new tv but its not an easy choice so I would like you to suggest an LCD or PLASMA mainly for my PLAYSTATION 3 and HD movies ( blu ray ) . I was thinking about a big PANASONIC PLASMA or a new SONY LCD XBR series. What do you think about that new PHILIPS CINEMA tv ( 21:9 ) ?? Any suggestions ? THANKS IN ADVANCE ![]()
I am on a fixed budget. I have no cable tv or even a radio. I use the computer at the library. I would like to find a way to purchase a playstation 2 on low monthly payments. My credit is bad and I can’t even get a Fingerhut account. There is no way I can swing 9.00 right now. Walmart does not have layaway anymore. Any suggestions?
There are no rent to own places where I live.
I just got a new Tv and new surround sound…we have an HDMI cable from the cable box to the tv then and HDMI from the surround sound, an audio cable from the surround to the cable box…the surrond works when watching tv however it doesn’t work when playing my playstation…the playstation is plugged right into the tv…I tried putting the playstation into the surround and the audio wires into the tv but then it only works for the playstation and not when watching tv…anyone know what i’m doing wrong?
I’ve heard that the Playstation 3 systems that are now in production have no backwards compatibility with the original Playstation and Playstation 2 games. I’ve also heard you can install software to add backwards compatibility, and then I’ve heard others refute that statement. What is the deal? I want as much detail as possible!
I’m in no way "dogging" on the new playstation 3. I am simply curious what technilogical improvements/advances were made to playstation 2 that is justifying this rush on finding PS3s. Is it just that they are made for high def TVs like xbox 360? This curious mind just wants to know!
